Reflection of the Unit 4

                This unit that we learn is music. To my surprised, today the America music which we listen full of sex and violence. It also debase woman. Those things I didn’t know before I read the essay because I always listen the old America music which are soft, sweet and romantic. It can make my mind relaxed, but when I read the essay and try to listen those violence music. I have a little bit shock, I just want to ask if they are shame to build those lyrics. I can’t understand, but I don’t mind it maybe because I am a teen.        

If I can create a Bumper Sticker, it will be “sometime both music are the same, but sometime they are different”. I create this Bumper Sticker because I just know the “folk” and “rock” which mean two music are the same if they are almost same rhythm before I learn this unit. When I finish this unit, I know I was wrong because those music which I think kinds of same thing are different.

                I learn that the new music genre is born when two music genres mix together, like heavy metal and punk. Both music are a little bit same with rock music, and those rhythm are high and strong. The people are crazy, and they throw their head. Also, the grunge is mix the heavy metal and punk together, it sounds like rock music, but it is the different genre.

                Before I learn this unit, I didn’t know that music have a lot of genres expect folk and rock music, like early jazz, R&B, heavy metal, punk and so on. I just know “folk music” and “rock music”, but now I know how to distinguish it because they are a lot of small characteristics with it, like some music hear like rock music, but they are different with rock. You can hear if their voice are very heavy like stone. This music maybe is heavy metal, but if their voice is very quick and high. This music maybe is punk, but if they are between the heavy metal and punk. It’s grunge music.  If you didn’t learn and recognize it, you can’t distinguish it.
