Reflection Unit 1 by Liwo Huang

Reflection

                I think I know what is the meaning of humanities when I choose this class on the first time. I think it was behavior of human, but I was wrong. Maybe behavior of human is one of them, but the all. The humanities is a huge concept, the pop culture what I learn this chapter is also one of them. Gitte teach us a lot of terms.

 Like mainstream which mean the main culture of this age, people almost follow this culture, but still have a little people keep their own culture which call subculture. The mainstream culture have two culture which folk culture and high culture in it. The high culture was different with folk culture because of the level of the life.

                The Aha moment which I know was an behavior of agreement. For example, when I ask a question which did I need to clean the house to my aunt, she will nod her head and say Aha. Then I need to say that was my pleasure.

                The culture shock’s part which Gatte let us play the activity was remain fresh in my memory because we all share our poor experience of culture shock in this activity, and I think was very funny. The culture shock which mean your culture style meet another culture style, and both were different. Sometime both were against, so the culture shock was born in the two different of culture. My culture shock was water because I hard to find the hot water in the America. In our culture style, the hot water was better than cold water and ice water for our body.

                That is the part of things that I learn for the humanities class, wish the next time I can learn more interesting things in the next chapter.
